Forward, Ph, Dagupan!

AT the rate we are going—Martial Law in Mindanao and might extend throughout the nation, drug war, policemen in cahoots with criminals, corrupt politics, et at—chances are there’s no way out for our country to go but down and out.

Include the earthquake last Thursday. Many more horrific problems that threaten the country to slide to oblivion.

If you were President, baka hihimatayin na kayo ng heart attack.

But God is good. If we had another leader, try to imagine what would happen? Mapalad tayo at Digong is our president.

May nabasa tayo somewhere… si Dr. Cathy Velasco ata ang author, butihing asawa ng ating kaibigang Jun, who wrote about the Philippines as the biblical Land of Ophir, famous for gold and the Narra Tree or Almug Tree, the wood used to build Noah’s Ark. Magdilang anghel ka sana Mare Bebot! Lumalabas, ang Pinas pala ay Blessed Country.

Cathy or Bebot is writing a series of articles on Ophir in another paper. The lesson here is that Filipinos are sitting on gold mine. We came across an item in the Internet about former US president George Bush, the elder, who frankly told the US media that the Philippines, not the US, is the richest country on earth. Wow!

Ang pinakaasam-asam ng writer na ito ay ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan nang walang humpay. Narito na ang buo at kumpletong rekado ng tagumpay. Bakit ba tayo ang parang umaayaw! At nag aaway, nagpapatayan pa, nagtratraydoran pa, saksakan, nangongorap, lahat ng kalokohan, tayo tuloy ay nangungulila ng katahimikan, aroga, at katahimikan!

If you ask us, ang kaguluhan at patayan na nangyayari sa ating mahal na bansa ay isang severe test para tayo ay bumalik sa katinuan at Maka-Diyos na buhay.

And what propitious time than under the leadership of mapagmurang pangulo! Irony? Paradox? Sabihin nyo na ang gusto niyo, but we assure you this—God like love works in mysterious ways. Prepare for it.

                  Those embroiled in the City Hall brawl in Dagupan should wake up before it’s too late. Fait accompli na yan. Mayor Belen has the numbers. Mag-unite na tayo para sa ikauunlad ng bayan. Kayo, VM Brian Lim at Councilor Red Erfe Mejia, you know deep inside that your opposition to a City Hall transfer is dead in the waters of Pantal.
