After kalutan’s success, what?

By Gonzalo Duque

THE post Bangus fest in Dagupan was a whopping success, and we know who should get the credit.

Congratulations to all who did it.

Now, it’s time to go down to brass tacks. Please don’t take lightly our reminder to the Sanggunian regarding too-lately needed enactment of an ordinance for a modern but not expensive sewerage system for the city.

A proper waste disposal system is sine qua non to progress. We can’t blow our horn if this critical problem is not addressed.

You know even if we are not physically around all the time, we could tell the signs and evidence of good governance and performance.

Haa!! Dami nang ginawang hearing? Yan nga ang problema, dami nang hearing but no ordinance! Mangopiya na kayo If you can’t whip up a good document!

Follow the lead of Pres. Digong, mahilig daw mangopya even during his student days. But he provides the leadership.

Before anything else, congrats to LNU alumnus Alvin Fernandez for passing the Bar. Surprised? Hindi gumagawa ng ingay yan, tutok sa law study. Kaya successful.

Please text us kung saan ang blowout, ha Mayor Al?

We at LNU want to fete our successful passers, too.

Sensational headliner Gina Lopez missed the boat because there were some glaring deficiencies on her part.

Passion, activism, straight talk may be good juices, but the leader should know how to swim against the current. You know what we mean.

The environment challenge is so serious and grave that exceptional leadership traits are needed. Not only fire in the belly, but a cool attitude amidst crisis, a holistic mien are wanting in Gina…  it seems she is a square peg in a round hall. So there.

And from the political grapevine, there’s smell of politics in a Mindanao project where Gina touched with a ten-foot pole. Familiar with an LP big connect, a certain B.G? Gina has only herself to blame.

Kulang ng suave, oido, the so-called “it.” That’s the problem, fellas!  A leader needs a lot of attributes to be effective.

Non-stop usap-usapan why ang mga bar top 10 ay panay galing sa province-based law schools.

Why not? Hindi ba right here in Dagupan, we have produced top ten placers, too? Our LNU has a number of times done it!

Wala na talaga yong Imperial Manila! Global village na tayo, di ba Jun V? Thank the coming of the internet and hi-tech!

But is this good or not?

Well, it really depends on how we handle ourselves.

Spiritual quote: Gratitude to GOD unlocks the fullness of life. It can turn a house into a home; a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates vision for tomorrow.

We dedicate that to the new lawyers.
