Our commitment is for country

OUR nation’s soul is under siege.

We are referring to the great skirmishes going on between the forces who are trying their worst to mislead and conceal the truth, and on the other side, doing their best to expose it.

Of course, their mental brilliance is succeeding in their hideous ends, at the expense of the nation that is thirsting for a liberation from darkness.

God in His ultimate way, will give us the light of day so that we in the long run will not lose our way, God will bless all of us.

Former National Adviser Joe Almonte gave President Digong’s First 100 Days a very satisfactory rating.

We know the guy. He is very brief and selfish with showering people with praises. He is the most trusted guy by former President Ramos. In fact, it’s because of Joe-Al that FVR has succeeded in keeping his team always in excellence form and substance.

Our good fortune is FVR, is our fellow Pangasinense.

We overheard this conversation: Ano kaya, kung hindi si Digong ang nanalo noong May 9 presidential race?

E, di parang walang nangyari.  Same old tune, same old problems… going down, down, down and kaput!

Fact is it’s just a matter of probably two or three years when the country would be dumped down and out. Para bagang, Digong ay sugo ng Almighty Father. Na-arrest ang free fall.

What? We do nothing but commend and praise President Duterte?

Of course, not!  What we are doing is to keep the Filipino’s faith in his good government. You know naman what many myopic quarters and other forces of darkness are doping to make things hard for him, don’t you?

We, you must have heard that the President has offered us a position, but we keep telling him that we’d be your last problem, just attend to the others. Our faith and commitment to him is not to be compromised with what is for us. We remain content with what he has been heroically doing for the country.

We almost did not notice the observance of Grandparents’ Day in our country, it came and went with nary a sound of celebration!

Ok, let’s greet each other Happy Grandparents’ Day!

What can the oldies do? Did you know that the new administration has a policy which says a man or woman of 65 and above is still employable.

It’s said that nothing can beat experience and wisdom, traits, they say, are valuable in winning, whether in war trenches or corporate war or drug war.

It’s sad that older people are overlooked in employment; discriminated against, forcing them to acquire negative attitude in life.

What stands out though in most fora is that with utmost care, positive attitude and faith in a good God, man’s aging can be delayed and, in fact, made fruitful and work for the betterment of life and the society.

The usual primer for longevity and productive life are being restated — regular check-up, supplement diet with fruits and vegetables, keeping an ideal weight, regular exercise, avoiding alcohol and smoking – should be followed religiously for preserving a healthier earthly life and surer ticket to life hereafter.
