Dagupan PNP turnover

AS we go to press, a confidant called up to report, that there are still pushers and users in Barangays Bonuan Binloc and Nueva, to name only two.

One so-called youth leader in Bonuan is reportedly very much in it.  The caller said open na open ang pagbebenta. Hanapin nyo ang isang Auring de Vera.

Colonel, better call us up for the goods!

We attended the PNP change of command in Dagupan City on invitation of Mayor Belen Fernandez. T.Y., mayor!

O, kayong mga intriguero at intriguera ha? Belen and this writer are still in the best of terms.

It was a welcome event. We met the new provincial director, Acting Chief Ronald Lee and the new PNP head of Dagupan City OIC Neil Miro.

Why are these titles – “Acting” and “OIC” – common these days?

Well, that’s not important. What’s important is the BIG JOB at hand – to clean and cleanse the country of drug criminals… the pushers and users.

In the long run, says Jackie Candelario, provincial deputy for operations, pusher and user are the same. The user who has a distorted mind can’t distinguish right from wrong and will do ANYTHING to get what he wants (drugs, illegal drugs, of course!).

In his date with the President Hotel Breakfast Club, Colonel Jackie picked up the cudgels for 3 people – Rep. Pol Bataoil, Col. Ronald Lee and outgoing Dagupan police chief Chris Abrahano and his replacement Col. Neil Miro.

Nagkaron ng aberya ang appointments kaya nakiusap ang tatlo kay Col. Jackie to represent them, kaya sabi niya kay Atchi Mita at Jun V ng the breakfast club, “dumami ang utang nyo sa akin.”

Someone told us, that when a breakfast club member asked Colonel Jackie, “do you mean all those years nang wala pa si President Digong , walang nakakita sa talamak na droga  sa ating bansa?”

Medyo nabigla he could only mumble “kulang ng political will.

Our good friend, Dagupan’s replaced Chief Chris Abrahano, in his valedictory speech, addressed us as “fiscalizer of the local police.” Director Lee, it seems, swallowed Abrahano’s words. But, ok lang.

What matters, we always say, is to get the job done… so that some “hooked” people will still have a future to look up to. By then, magkakaroon tayo ng fresh air, hope for a bright tomorrow.

In his speech, Colonel Miro, displaying strong resolve, said “I will do the job in 3 to 6 months! If I fail, I will return my appointment papers and quit!!!”

Bold, strong words! But we trust him. Let’s hope action will match his words.

To Director Lee, we suggest he start looking at Asingan, the town of our beloved former President Ramos. There’s a problem there. To Col. Miro, focus on Bonuan Binloc, the barangay of former Speaker Joe De Venecia.

Do you see a similar tune? Ang binibiktima ay mga lugar ng mga taong nagkaroon mataas na katungkulan sa bansa — FVR and JDV!!! Probably because some crackpots think the police would be soft in places under an imagined protective cover by great men.

But believe us, these places will not escape Digong’s eyes. Nagbigay na si FVR ng inspiration for President Digong to do at all cost what he is supposed to do.

Aha, so Senator Leila de Lima slammed the drug campaign in her privilege speech?

Question is, why did she avoid being interpellated? May itinatago?

Let’s move on. Let’s clean our country from the illegal drug dirt and and give our people, especially our children a bright future.
