Post poll chat with Digong

SUDDENLY, the city of Davao has become a mecca of many people the world over, yes, not only Filipinos.

No less than President Obama was calling Davao, because of our presumptive President Digong Duterte.

Did you notice that this column never erred on Digong?

Marami dyan ang tinatawanan tayo, kesyo, local politico lang daw, mayor lang we were playing the presidential drums for him!

Since Monday, we’ve been in this beautiful, crime-free city, savoring the mayor’s electoral victory, oh, yes, with Gen. Jun Esperon and Atty. Raul Lambino.

Kay dami ng callers ni Digong. We were only able to see him and engaged him for 45 minutes of hearty conversation, recalling the past campaign and related topics.

Esperon may be named secretary of national defense or national security adviser. Us? Huag muna nating pag-usapan yan. Ethics dictates so.

The mood was jolly, and we didn’t want to spoil it.

There’s one thing we made sure took our time with the incoming president — PGMA.

We told Digong there’s no more rhyme or reason she should be detained, especially that the former lady president, a fellow Pangasinense, is suffering from a health problem.

We blame the Aquino government’s utter incompetence, charging her without due process, with very weak evidence, if any at all.

We took up his battlecry against the Abu Sayaff and terrorists, the drug lords and callous criminals. Their days are really numbered.

Sabi niya uubusin niya sila lahat. The order is shoot to kill. We feel he means business.

In Dagupan, we feel chief of police Chris Abrahano should be promoted na, better in a place like Mindanao. Don’t laugh, now Mindanao is a tourist city because of Digong.

Multi awarded ata yan!

We noticed his indefatigable mien. He would stay up late till the wee hours of the morning, parang wala.

Nikki Coseteng, who was with us, expressed some worry, Digong’s non-stop activity could tell on his health. Kwidaw!

Well, he was still in state of euphoria we didn’t want to take that away from him.

He deserved it.

What Pinoys will never forget of Digong is his being himself all the time. Walang plastikan. What you see, what you hear, is what you get.

Di ba dapat ganun ang totoong tao?

We know a lot of people who show off what they are not.

When found out, they do not know where to hide.
