‘Darling of the people’

Gonz Duque

By Gonzalo Duque

AS we go to the press, our presidential bet Rody Duterte is more and more becoming the darling, no, not of the press, but of the people!

Kahit saan ka pumunta ang Digong dumadagundong!

Both prestigious poll survey organizations SWS and Pulse Asia couldn’t help bannering Duterte as ahead of all of them including Grace Poe and Mar Roxas and, hmmm…. ang symbol of corruption, Jojo Binay.

Ano ba naman ito, mga igan? May mga leaders ng Catholic Church who are moving heaven and earth against Digong? What’s happening to the law on separation of church and state?

Back to Binay, everybody in Makati na nakakaintindi, hindi boboto kay Binay… except those who are benefitting personally or privately from the Binays …. a confirmed corrupt family.

Nakakatakot!

But Digong is right. There’s a time for people, for a family who did not mind robbing our hopeless citizens!

While we wrote this, we came across a PDI page 1 news item which says “LP sure of Roxas victory on May 9.”

Karumar-dumar, lolo! How could they say that, kulelat sa survey!!

At ito namang medyo nagbibigay ng laban kay Digong sa top slot, na si Grace Poe alleged taga-Pangasinan, ay ito lang ang ating masasabi: can’t she start with her family? To make the Llamanzares, her hubby and children Filipinos muna? Very basic, very elementary, di po ba?

Ok na tayo dyan sa SC decision on her cases. But the moral issues are a big insult sa kanya!!! Dapat ang president lalo na kung babae, she should be like Caesar’s wife, above suspicion!

Back in Dagupan, we were pleased to meet teeners who keep asking us if we can give them Duterte pins or memorabilia.

Go to any 7-Eleven store, and engage any young ones, and they will tell you “Duterte kami.”

Better join our candidate, sigurado ka pa.

We in Dagupan will have the honor of hosting the Third and Last Presidential Debate at UPang-PHINMA.

Pustahan tayo.

He is a lawyer, former prosecutor.

Witty, brilliant, kaya lang may Visayan twang, but it’s an advantage, kasi he is able to make people laugh at his banters and witticisms.

We were not able to join the President Hotel Breakfast Club forum due to our hectic schedule.

It was the turn of the Merrera brothers – Butch and Pete, candidates for board member and mayor of Binmaley respectively. A fitting sequel to the other week’s Pol and Ramon Bataoil tandem?

We are happy for Atchi Mita who is probably very active in her media work. Not many probably know that Ate Mita, widow of our eldest Dr. Salvador or Ado, is an accomplished book author. Her columns are literary but containing timely journalistic punch.

Congrats, Atchi Mita!

The Pangasinan Muslims headed by Guia Macmod are playing their role in eradicating drug pushing in their ranks. We were told they are now in praise of Police Chief Chris Abrahano in the drug drive.

Mabuti naman. Keep up the good work.
