Bobby Sison refuses to give up on Pol Bataoil

WE were with a sizzling, warm-blooded and jocund group Thursday evening at the President Hotel in Lingayen.

It was Capitol Post’s 1st Anniversary.

Sincerest congratulations, especially to our sister-in-law Atchi Mita Sison Duque overseeing the entire proceedings. She is President Hotel’s chairlady/manager and publisher of Capitol Post.

We were with a political/apolitical group led by Cong. Pol Bataoil and former Board Member Bobby Sison and many others. Bobby still refuses to give up on Pol as Pangasinan’s best bet for governor.

“Everybody told us that evening they enjoyed our hosting of Mark Cojuangco in our Deretsahan program with Manong Bebot Villar. Enjoy ang audience sa “pag charm natin kay former Congressman Mark na magsalita ng maganda tungkol kay Guv’nor Spines. True enough, Mark said many good things about Spines.

Now we know that when you talk good about your foe, you’ll endear the public. Manong Joe praises to high heavens his “katunggali.”

So-congrats, Ate Mita, for doing “the near-impossible.” Ang Capitol Post ay pang Northern Luzon, nagci-circulate sa Region I, II and the Cordilleras.

Kaya lang ang masthead “Capitol Post” makes the paper look like an Espino or Urduja paper. But we saw two issues with Mark Cojuangco on the cover.

But sis-in-law says CP and SP complement each other because one is a Pangasinan weekly, while the other is a North Luzon paper.

Wish you success, Atchi Mita!

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) held its seminar—workshop at Le Duc Hotel, last Friday. Theme is education’s outcome-based program. It aims to prepare the graduate with functional knowledge on the course he or she undertakes. It’s not theory-based, but practice-based.

The curriculum takes the student to the Asian education scene that challenges him to be functional in his chosen career. This mindset will be applicable in any country in Asia—Vietnam, China, Thailand, Malaysia, etc., when the student is adequately armed, hindi siya maiiwan kahit saan siya mag-work.

Very ok ito, mga igan. It means, we have disbanded our theory-based system which often doesn’t sit well with reality.

The recent workshop at Le Duc involved some 300 students from Regions I, II, III and the Cordilleras.

By the way, we wish to announce that PhilHealth has its office at LNU building along Sec. Francisco T. Duque Jr—or formerly Amado St.

Some people say PhilHealth’s new location marks the start of the eventual return to Pangasinan of many regional government offices.

And the CHED workshop which otherwise should have been held in Baguio or La Union shows this trend. Don’t you think so?

Col. Rey Biay, police provincial director, made a correct assessment of the province’s peace and order situation, enjoining all supportive offices to be sincere and professional about their job at all times.

Having been in the thick of things, educating the youth, re-living our Pangasinan history, media and fighting criminality from Day 1, we believe very firmly that no campaign or program will succeed if we don’t tackle the bull by the horns, i.e., be serious and tough in dealing with problems.

We wish to make this appeal to our new PD: clean the neighborhood! Nandiyan na lahat ang ibig sabihin niyan.

By the way, Kuya Rey, diyan sa Bonuan, malapit sa bayan mong Mangaldan, they are peddling shabu like they were selling sapin-sapin or saging.

Everybody—without exception—knows who are the culprits and their selling/marketing tactics. We want to invite Manong Bebot one of these days to talk with a civilian resident in Bonuan who will tell all. Nakakasindak? Nope! Not really.

Manong Bebot, we shall let you in on a well-known secret…the very reason why, Colonel Biay seems stuck in difficulties to take the first real and definitive step to wipe out and finish of drug related crimes in Pangasinan.

Watch out!
