P-noy should seize the moment

NEW YORK CITY—Most Pinoys here in the US of A are as disillusioned as our countrymen back home over the uncontrolled and unconscionable theft not so adroitly done by our own legislators of the National Treasury, using Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s).

It’s ironic, they say, that such inhuman crime is being committed by the very people who were elected to protect the people.

Pero kung ang gumagawa ng katiwalian ay mga opisyal ng gobyerno na pinagkakatiwalaan ng tao, di ba, stab in the back yan, mga kabaleyan?

Galit at nag ngi ngitngit tayo sa mga taong ganyan dahil they violate our trust. Parang double murder!

It’s a shame! Even here, karamihan sa mga Pinoy cover their faces in shame….

That is why, mga kabaleyan, we hope naiintindihan nyo ang pagiging kritikal natin sa mga korap, sa mga nagsasamantala ng pera ng bayan.

With the advent of the new Administration of Mayor Belen Fernandez even U.S.—based Dagupenos are heaving a sigh of relief that finally we have a transparent government solely based on the Rule of Law.

This column is four-square behind good governance.

We have had long conversations with fellow Pinoys here on what best to do with Janet Lim Napoles after spilling the beans on many government officials down there.

Huag sanang magpatumpik tumpik si Pangulo on this account.

Pnoy is known to be committed to an honest governance. He calls it Daang Matuwid. That being so, he should heed Supreme Bishop Oscar Cruz’s panawagan na i-sustain nya ang kanyang advocacies.

We have been following up Philippine developments thru the US-based TV networks here. Para na rin tayong nandyan. In point of fact, kung tsismis ang pinag-uusapan, more advanced sila rito, we really don’t know how and where they get their latest infos.

Our friends here appreciate what our neighbor columnist Jun Velasco suggested to Mayor Belen Fernandez to exhaust all measures to attend to each and every Dagupeno as is humanly possible as she could. Mahirap gawin, but if you ask us, there’s a way to do it.

Mayor Belen should form Action Centers on specific areas and specializations to closely monitor all ey-ey, plaints, problems the public would bring to her attention.

If the solution isn’t available yet, then the party seeking it should be promptly and courteously informed. The public will understand.

Grabe met lanti so intilak nen cumapre tayo. Man-anos tayoy daiset. They, the public, will understand Belen as the leader who is transparent and who means well.

Belated congrats to Ope Reyna for his election as president of the Federation of Dagupan’s NGO Associations. NGOs in Dagupan are good, not those in Manila which were corrupted by Janet Lim Napoles.

Maganda yong suggestion ni Al Mendoza for the solution of floods: every town and barangay should have a giant flood catch basin each. Problem is how about the water coming from the dams?

Mga government officials, please study this creative idea of Al Mendoza.
