PANGASINAN has already registered 27, 226 individuals as regular voters and another 17, 352 for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) as of last month.

Provincial Election Supervisor Marino Salas said the number for SK registrants was boosted by their off-site registration in schools where a maximum of 500 registrants daily was recorded.

“So far, so good despite the rains,” Salas said.

Students from age 15 and above, comprise the bulk of registrants in school for off-site registration.

He said students are prioritized which is why most off-site registration are held in schools but not to the exclusion of residents.

Barangay gymnasium in different areas is also used for their off-site registration in specific schedules to accommodate more registrants.

Ongoing registration is held from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including holidays.

Transfer of voting area, reactivation of record, correction of entries of voters are also done during the registration. The registration of voters nationwide ends on Sept. 30.
