LINGAYEN— The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will soon establish the ”Kaisa sa Sining” regional center in the capital town in partnership with the provincial government.

This after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed a resolution proposed by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim on Monday that authorized Gov. Amado Espino III to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the program with CCP president Arsenio Lizaso.

In proposing the measure, VG. Calimlim said the CCP has identified the provincial government as one of its partner in implementing its program “Kaisa sa Sining”.

The “Kaisa sa Sining” program seeks to establish a network of regional arts centers.

Calimlim said the partnership will eventually result in further enriching, developing and promoting arts and culture in the region that will focus on training and apprenticeship, touring and move-over productions, sharing of cultural resource materials, access to arts cultural information, venues and facilities and participation in major cultural events.

“Through the program, the provincial government believes it can further enhance the development, promotion and preservation of truly distinct Pangasinan arts and culture as well as music and dances,” Calimlim said. (Leonardo Micua)
