BJMP-Urdaneta launches own contra-droga campaign

URDANETA CITY — The officials and personnel of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in the city has taken its extended campaign against illegal drug use and trading beyond the walls of the jail facility.

It has undertaken information awareness program on drugs in schools, colleges and universities here and even in neighboring towns in the Fifth District.

As part of their community relations service, it initiated ‘Sayaw Kontra Droga’, a special activity where participants are taught the dance, choreographed to the tune of Duterte’s campaign jingle.

Meanwhile, Sison said he was finally able to secure the deed of donation from the city government here led by Mayor Amadeo Gregory Perez IV through the city council for the 2,900 square meters lot where the BJMP building stands.

The BJMP here is considered a major contender for the Sustinidong Paglilinis ng Bilangguan national award for anti-drugs initiatives.

It has been declared Region 1’s Best District Jail and Roque as Best District Jail Warden in 2016 and 2017.

Sison has been a national awardee thrice as Best Jail Warden when he was assigned in Dagupan City, San Carlos City, in Laoag and in Balungao. (Eva Visperas)
