DUTERTE’S POLICE

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – The 311 newly appointed police recruits have been challenged to work harder, to be incorruptible as ‘Duterte’s police’.

P/Chief Superintendent Gregorio Pimentel, PRO1 director, who administered their oaths of office, challenged the new recruits “to become the agents and implementers of change and to work hard for the country” after passing the rigid screening process set by the Philippine National Police and strictly implemented by the Police Regional Office (PRO1) Regional Screening Committee (RSC).

“Nobody is perfect, but as long as we know what we are doing, as long as we understood what we have sworn to, there’s no way that we will go wrong” he told the recruits after they took their oaths on February. 1.

“Always think good so that you will all become good officers and men of the PNP. From now on, think that you are different among the other police because you are President Duterte’s police,” Pimentel added.

He challenged them “to start well, start good and finish good.”

Pimentel urged the leadership of Regional Training Center 1 (RTC1) to give the best training and transformation for the recruits.

“I want to start a training that will develop each and every recruit a new breed of officer. An officer that cannot be corrupted, officer that can say no to drugs and officer that is willing to fight against criminality,” he said.

The 311 new police recruits, composed of 211 men and100 women, were sent to TRC1 in Aringay, La Union for 12 months Field Training Program. (Tita Roces)
