LINGAYEN –The Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Navy continue to comb the West Philippine Sea in search of the seven fishermen from Cato, Infanta on board a fishing boat that failed to return since they left on Nov. 28.

Charlito Maniago, village chief of Cato, said the fishermen were on board the fishing boat “John Paul” and were expected to return to Cato on December 3.

The worried relatives of the missing fishermen had asked the Coast Guard and the Navy through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and  Management Council (PDRRMC) to help locate their missing kin.

The missing are brothers Pedro and Junjun Amor, Christopher Mongje, Jumar Gamboa, Alfredo Bautista, Carding Nical and a certain “Jerry”.

Initial report of the Coast Guard said the missing fishing boat was last seen on December 2 some 82 nautical miles west of Bolinao town.

Maniago said the missing fishing boat could have experience rough sailing when a gale warning was issued by the Coast Guard on December 2. (Leonardo Micua)
