CITY’S ONE-TIME, BIG-TIME OPS

THE Dagupan police staged a ‘one-time, big-time’ operation last Monday and Tuesday and netted eight notorious drug pushers in simultaneous operations conducted in different parts of the city.

Four were arrested in their homes when the police operatives served search warrants while two were arrested in separate buy-bust operations.

Arrested in search warrant operations were Darius Carane, 43; Tito Villanueva, 51, both of Pantal West, Dagupan City; Jay-R Villanueva, alias “Manok” of Mayombo District; and Juanito Rusuello Aquino, 36, of Amado Tapuac in Dagupan City.

One suspect, Aaron Romero, 26, a construction worker of Calmay District, the subject of a search warrant, managed to elude the police team and is now the object of a manhunt. Five sachets that contained shabu placed inside a pack of cigarettes were seized by raiders from his residence.

Arrested in two separate buy-bust operations were Dennis Calpo, alias Danica, 42, of Pantal District; and Ave King Calulut, 26, of Careenan Street, Poblacion Oeste.

The two were placed under surveillance after police received tips about activities of both Calpo and Calulut provided by concerned citizens.

Two were arrested in separate areas of the city.

P/Supt. Neil Miro, acting-Dagupan police chief, said the recent simultaneous police operations is part of their continuing efforts in clearing barangays of drug-activities.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 as amended. (Leonardo Micua)
