Man trapped in fire, dies

LABRADOR—A man trapped inside a house razed by fire died early morning on October 6.

The Labrador Police Station (LPS) said it was the two-level house of a certain Ricardo Castro rented by the staff of Kazama Grameen Incorporated that razed to the ground.

The victim Arnold Retotar, resident of San Antonio Zambales, one of the occupants, was trapped inside the house and eventually died.

The fire took place at 1:30 in the morning but was put under control by 5:10 in the morning by the Labrador Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Sual BFP.

The investigation on the incident is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Binalonan, a fire incident was also reported in the house of Catalino Noble, 82, in Barangay San Pablo.

According to the Binalonan BFP, the fire was caused by an electric fan that overheated at 10:00 in the morning and was put out an hour later.

No casualties were recorded however the estimated damage to property amounted to P50, 000. (Hilda Austia)
