IBCWA Malasiqui chapter help in anti-drug campaign

MALASIQUI—The members of the International Business And Community Watch Alliance (IBCWA) join the Malasiqui Police Station (MPS) in night patrols in support not only to the anti-drug campaign but also to criminality as a whole.

IBCWA members are small and medium entrepreneurs in the town and even in nearby towns.

P/Supt. Roland Sacyat, acting police chief, IBCWA has been helping the police in patrolling streets at night and in traffic enforcement during town fiestas and festivals.

Sacyat said he welcomes the initiative of IBCWA because it helps in monitoring illegal drug trade in the town including those who have already surrendered.

“They move around the town at night using their own motorcycles patrolling particularly far-flung barangays and the central business district”, said Sacyat.

Meanwhile, the Malasiqui Pastors Association (MAPA) continues to do counseling for the surrendered drug personalities that already reached more than 500, 37 of whom are pushers.

The number surprised Sacyat because as he admitted, there were only 21 drug personalities listed in the town prior to the all-out war against illegal drugs in the whole country. (Hilda Austria)
