A DRUG pusher in Dagupan City who raped and attempted to kill his victim was caught and arrested by elements of the Dagupan City Police Station three days after the commission of the crime in Barangay Bonuan Binloc.

The suspect, Abdul Kapia, 44, of Bonuan Binloc, a suspected drug user and pusher, was positively identified by the victim as the one who raped her.

The arrest of the suspect came three days after the victim, a young lady working in a subdivision office was sexually attacked and was left for dead on February 19 in a subdivision in the barangay.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim, Karen (not her real name), was hit on the head with a stone and fell unconscious. Kapia then reportedly dragged the victim outside the office and brought her to a grassy portion of the subdivision where he molested her.

After satisfying his carnal desire, Kapia again hit Karen with a stone several times and left her for dead.

The victim was later found by the subdivision’s guard who brought her to the hospital.

The police got wind on the identity of the suspect through the description made by the victim to investigators at her hospital bed.

On the night of February 22, the suspect was sighted near Sitio Silungan and was initially arrested for drug possession and trafficking.

When he was presented to the victim, he was positively identified as the one who molested and attacked her.

Complaints for rape and frustrated murder were also filed against the suspect before the City Prosecutor’s Office in addition to the separate complaints for violation of the anti-drugs law and drug trafficking filed against him.

Mayor Belen Fernandez commended the city police for the immediate arrest of Kapia. (CIO)
