Barangay brass arrested for arbitrary detention

LINGAYEN—Officials of Barangay Wawa in this town were arrested Monday, October 26, morning on charges of arbitrary detention.

Arrested were Bgry. Chairman Jonathan Ramos, Brgy Councilor Joeffrey Ramos and six Brgy. Tanod members Pepe Reyes, Roger delos Santos, Amadeno Aquino, Antonio Yangao, Dominador dela Cruz, and Rodolfo Ramos.

The warrant of arrest was served by the province’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Lingayen Police Station, after respondents were charged with the crime of arbitrary detention of a certain Franky Lee.

The warrant was issued by Judge Edwin Maynigo of the Municipal Trial Court in Lingayen for Criminal Case Number 15-122 for the crime of Arbitrary Detention dated October 19, 2015 with a recommended bail of P6,000.00 each for their temporary liberty.

Arrested persons were brought to the CIDG provincial office for documentation prior turnover to the court of origin. (Johanne Macob)
