Dawana named PAFPI adviser

ALFREDO M. Dawana, former president of the Association of Brgy. Captains of Dagupan City, was designated one of two advisers of the Philippine Association of Fish Producers, Inc. by the board of directors during its 3-day conference in Iloilo City last week.

The other adviser is Dr. Felix G. Ayson, D. Sc., chief of Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center, Aquaculture Department.

Dawana, founder and chairman of the Fishpond Owners, Operators and Fisherfolks of Dagupan City, Inc. (FOOFADCI), is known for his zealous advocacy of clean and productive river systems in Dagupan City and other parts of the country.

In the FOOFADCI, the river systems of Dagupan City have been rid of illegal fish pens since the administration of Mayors Al Fernandez, Benjamin Lim and Belen Fernandez

He was a city consultant on fishery matters during Mayor Lim’s administration.
