Bangus cooking fest set April 22

2011 BANGUS FESTIVAL

A CULINARY competition dubbed “101 Ways of Cooking Bangus” will be staged on April 22 at the City Museum as one of the highlights of the Bangus Festival which officially opened last April 8.

The competition is open to all hotel and restaurant chefs, owners, caterers, amateur cooks, and institutions.

Interested participants are required to submit typewritten entries, indicating the complete specifications of the ingredients, procedures, and number of servings at a minimum of 10.

The dish should have a deboned bangus, provided by the organizers, as the main ingredient.

Participants will have to bring the other ingredients for their entry as well as their own cooking equipment and utensils.

Each contestant, dressed in chef’s uniform, will be allowed a maximum of two assistants.

All recipe entries will become the sole properties of the city tourism office.

Contestants will compete in two categories: appetizer and main entry. First prize winners in each category will receive P5,000; second prize, P3,000; and third, P2,000. The over-all winner will receive P8,000.
