OF the total 1,136 barangays of Pangasinan, at least 195 have yet to be cleared of illegal drugs.

This was bared by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Provincial Director Richie Camacho, citing data of the ongoing drug clearing operations in the province.

The 195 still uncleared barangays, he said, are from 27 municipalities and one city. He did not disclose these municipalities and cities in an interviewee with IFM Dagupan.

Camacho appealed to local LGUs to prioritize the establishment of their respective Balay Silangan so they can focus on helping their constituents affected illegal drugs.

The establishment of Balay Silangan is one of the new requirements for a town or city to be removed from the list of drug-affected areas.

He said PDEA Pangasinan is continuously conducting seminars in schools aimed at helping youth stay away from illegal  drugs.

Camacho called on residents to immediately report to the police if there is any illegal drug dealing activities in their respective areas. (104.7 IFM Dagupan)
