Pangasinan still tops in number of COVID-19 cases

PANGASINAN leads in the number of confirmed cases in Region 1 totaling 11,929 based on records of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development 1 as of July 12, 2021.

This was revealed by Dr. Rheuel Bobis, COVID-19 focal person in Region 1, who said of the total number of cases, 9,895 had recovered and 497 had died.

Dagupan City registered 1,852 cases. Out of this, 1,653 had recovered and 87 had died. At least 22 of the cases were admitted in hospitals, 112 on home quarantine and eight on facilities quarantine.

– La Union, whose city San Fernando, was classified by the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) as a high risk area, had 8,171, at 5 had recovered and 104 had died. Of the confirmed cases, 139 were admitted in hospitals, 1,563 on home quarantine  and 70 on facilities quarantine. It had the highest number of new cases in the region last week.

– Ilocos Norte trails La Union in the total number of confirmed cases at 3,873, at least 3,032 had recovered and 22 had died. Of the cases, 53 were admitted in hospitals, 374 were on home quarantine and 34 were on facilities quarantine.

– Ilocos Sur registered 4,017 total confirmed cases. Of this, 2,840 had recovered and 22 had died. Of the cases, 123 were hospitalized, 965 on home quarantine and 66 on facilities on facilities quarantine. (Leonardo Micua)
