Urdaneta City on top of PHO COVID-19 watchlist

AS of April 20, all 48 towns and cities of Pangasinan are already infected with COVID-19.

With registered 43 cases, Urdaneta City was moved to the top of the COVID-19 watchlist of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) dislodging Alaminos City with 37 cases as of April 20.

San Carlos City is third in the watchlist with 31 cases, followed by Bolinao (26), Calasiao (24), Calasiao (24), Villasis (23), Malasiqui (22), Manaoag and Sta. Barbara (20), Lingayen (19), Mangaldan (18), Basista, Bayambang, Binmaley and Pozorrubio (15 each), Bugallon (13), Aguilar (12), Balungao (12), Tayug (12), Unimgan (12), Anda (11) and Sta. Maria (11).

Urdaneta City had confirmed 11 active cases on April 19, prompting Mayor Julio Parayno III to reiterate his call to his constituents to take the threat of COVID-19 seriously.

“Let us strictly comply with the standard heath protocols, which include but not limited to the wearing of face masks, face shields and observing physical distancing at all times,” the mayor said. “Non-essential travels should be postponed while the number of cases continue to rise,” he added

Alaminos City had announced the clinical recovery of 29 patients on April 19 even as four – a 66-year-old male, a 46-year-old female, a 54-year-old male and a 73-year-old male – tested positive for COVID-19 the following day (April 20). (Leonardo Micua)
