STILL THE EPICENTER IN PANGASINAN

AS Dagupan City rolls out its plan for the celebration of its Bangus Festival on April 30, nine new COVID-19 cases and one death were reported, effectively raising the number of active cases in the city as of April 22 to 81.

While six patients had recovered, Dagupan continues to be on top of the COVID-19 watch list in Pangasinan (including Dagupan City) and remains the province’s epicenter of the pandemic.

Among 31 barangays, Pantal still logged in the most number of active cases with 18, followed by Caranglaan (13), Malued (9), Bonuan Gueset (9), Poblacion Oeste (5), Tambac (4), Lucao (4), Barangay II & III (3), Bonuan Boquig (3), Mangin (3), Bonuan Binloc (2), Tapuac (2), Bacayao Norte (1), Bolosan (1), Calmay (1), Salapingao (1), and Tebeng (1).

Ten barangays in the city are presently without cases: Bacayao Sur, Barangay 1, Carael, Herero-Perez, Lasip Grande, Lomboy, Mamalingling, Mayombo, Pogo Grande and Salisay.

Although Malacanang approved the request of the city government to declare April 30 as a non-working public holiday, it cautioned the officials to enforce minimum health standards in view of the pandemic. (Leonardo Micua)
