THE Dagupan City Athletic Association (DCAA) seeks to regain its dominance in the region after a 5th place finish when it held pre-qualifying competition in preparation for Region 1 Athletic Meet (R1AA) on January 29 at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome with Mayor Belen Fernandez as guest of honor.

With the theme “Beyond Unity”, the city athletic meet is being participated in by student athletes from the five districts and will compete in basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming, board games, martial arts and in other individual events.

The pre-qualifying competition will select athletes that will represent Dagupan City in the R1AA this year.

Dagupan was a back-to-back R1AA champion in 2018 and 2019. No meet was held in 2020, 2021 and 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  (Kim Gealogo)
