THE Pangasinan Men’s and Women’s Football League tournament kicked off last January 22 at  the Sual Sports Complex under the auspices of the Pangasinan United Football Club (PUFC).

Eight football clubs joined the tournament, five from Pangasinan, two from Tarlac and one from Ilocos Norte.

In the opening match, Sual FC Men’s team routed the Bolinao FC Taklobos, 8-3. In the Women’s Division, Ilocos Norte’s Amazonas FC edged the Pangasinan United FC in a gut-wrenching 7-6 finish.

PUFC founder Floyd Crisologo said the Pangasinan Five Football League was formed to promote the active football clubs in Pangasinan comprising of Bolinao, Sual, Urdaneta City, Dagupan City, and Sual.

“The vision of this league is to empower football and futsal clubs in the community by extending our reach to promote football as one of the staple sports in Pangasinan”, Crisologo added. (Kim Gealogo)
