THE 2^nd Mayor’s League Basketball and Volleyball tournament in Urbiztondo started last week held with the participation of  21 cage teams from the barangays in both sporting events at the Urbiztondo Sports Complex.

The 21 participating barangays were clustered into three brackets to compete for the top four spots in each cluster for the playoff rounds.

In the league’s volleyball game opener, Barangay Galarin swept Barangay Gueteb,  2-0; while in basketball, Barangay Malibong outclassed Barangay Gueteb in a 93-74 finish.

The event was organized by Urbistondo Mayor Modesto Operania and Vice Mayor Volter Balolong, in collaboration with the Urbiztondo Sports Development Council.
The 2^nd Mayor’s Cup seeks to continue conducting sports activities for youth development building camaraderie in the community through sports excellence. The final rounds are scheduled finish before the year ends. (Kim Gealogo)
