Balon Dagupan Swim Team shines in Luzon Inter-School Championships
THE Balon Dagupan Swim Team bagged six gold, 10 silver, and two bronze medals in the 1st Speedo National Inter-School Swimming North Luzon Championships last October 29, 2023 at the Narciso Ramos Sports Complex in Lingayen.
The SNIS Championships, a swimming meet held in five Legs (NCR, South Luzon, Northern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) is organized by Swim Philippines to promote grassroots talents of different swimming clubs in school and national level.
The medalists of Balon Dagupan Swim Team are Jake Ang with four silvers (100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m breast stroke, 50m freestyle under Boys 8YO Category); Jden Ang (gold 50m breast stroke, silver 100m freestyle, silver 50m breast stroke, bronze 50m butterfly, bronze 50m freestyle under Boys 12YO Category). Both are swimmers from the Pangasinan Universal Institute.
On the 18 Year Old and Above Category, Gabriel Jizmundo carried school colors of Saint Albert the Great-Dagupan and hauled 5 golds (100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breast stroke, 50m freestyle) while Jeremy Carlo Jizmundo who represented University of Santo Tomas garnered four silvers (100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle).
