1st Pangasinan Futsal League kicks-off in Sual
THE women’s category in the first Pangasinan Weekend Futsal League (PWFLI) Invitational reeled off starting last August 13, 2023 at the Sual Sports Complex participated in by five crack teams from Northern and Central Luzon.
The league is headed by its founder, Floyd Crisologo who is a V-licensed football coach and a Level 2 futsal coach license holder. He said that PWFL was created to promote and develop the sport football in the province of Pangasinan.
The participating teams are the host team Sual Football Club, Tarlac State University, Ciudad de Urdaneta Football United (CUFU), B.L.U Knights (Bolinao and La Union), and Dagupan United Football Club (DUFC).
During the league opener, the BLU Knights trounced the Sual FC in a 4-2 finish.
The futsal league was first known in 2017 as the Pangasinan Football League and was renamed Pangasinan Weekend Futsal League for indoor games .
Crisologo said PWFL’s goal is to adapt to the caliber of the national football team that will add to the development of Philippine football.
The PWFL is an ongoing invitational league and is set to finish the play-off rounds in September. (Kim Gealogo)
