DA DISTRIBUTES DISCOUNT VOUCHER, 186 FARMERS CLAIM FERTILIZERS

THE Department of Agriculture through the City Agriculture Office has led the distribution of fertilizer discount vouchers to some 186 farmers in Dagupan City on February 27 at the City Plaza as part of the National Rice Program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Mayor Belen T. Fernandez reiterated the city’s gratitude to the President’s rice program that provides fertilizer vouchers to farmer-beneficiaries to boost rice production, minimize expenses and ensure food security for the agriculture sector.  The activity forms part of the government’s response to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, particularly # 2: Zero Hunger.Recipients were farmers from barangays Bonuan Boquig, Mangin, Malued, Tebeng and Salisay, according to City Agriculture Officer-in-Charge Patrick Dizon.  (Dagupan CIO News)

CHILD LABORERS UNDERGO DOLE’s TUPAD PROFILING

MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez joins 99 child laborers, accompanied by their parents/guardians, who gathered at the City Plaza on February 27 to undergo profiling/validation as part of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers program of the Department of Labor and Employment in coordination with the Public Employment Service Office-Dagupan. TUPAD is part of the government’s efforts in providing livelihood and employment opportunities for marginalized sectors and is in response to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. KATROPA ORIENTATION HELD IN BACAYAO SUR AND BACAYAO NORTE

THE City Population Office (CPO) conducts back-to-back orientation for members of the Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA) in Bacayao Sur (Feb. 16) and Bacayao Norte (Feb. 23) on their roles and functions as community partners.

KATROPA President Bernard Tuliao and Population Program Officer (PPO) III Irene Oreta provided the lectures to some 44 participants in Bacayao Sur including the male barangay family led by Punong Barangay Michael Taminaya, City KATROPA officers, barangay service point officers, KATROPA Focal Person Jerome Espeleta and 10 students from the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) undergoing immersion at the CPO. In Bacayao Norte, speakers included Espeleta and Tuliao with 25 attendees including the male barangay family led by Punong Barangay Diosdado Maramba Sr., barangay KATROPA President Regino Pasaoa, City KATROPA officers, PPO I Ed Veronica Jane Cruz and DCNHS students.
