THE senior’s division of the University of Luzon Golden Tigers joined the 30th season of the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) basketball  meet that kicked off on March 1 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila.

University of Luzon president Chito Samson said the team made its debut in the league’s game opener against DLSU-Dasmarinas, which UL lost, 90-98.

UL head coach Marc Antoine Gonzales said in an interview that the team ran multiple basketball scrimmages before leaving for Manila in preparation for its duel with DLSU-Dasmarinas cagers.

The 11 cage teams  seeing action in NCRAA  are St. Dominic College of Asia, Immaculada Concepcion Colleges, Olivares College, Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite, Lyceum of the Philippines-Laguna, Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, Bestlink College of the Philippines, Philippine Merchant Marine School, PATTS College of Aeronautics, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, and University of Luzon.

The teams will go through a single round-robin elimination and the top eight teams will advance to the quarterfinal round. (Kim Gealogo)
