GOODBYE GUTOM GOES TO POBLACION OESTE

SOME 200 children in Sitio Careenan, Barangay Poblacion Oeste were served with nutritious meals of chicken tinola with papaya and warm rice and pairing of fresh apples during the ‘Goodbye Gutom’ and ‘You’re the Apple of My Eyes’ program of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez on December 13. The feeding activity that also featured the presence of Santa Claus and other freebies, is the local government’s response to the Zero Hunger food sustainability program of the United Nations and has been a regular activity in schools and barangays in coordination with the City Nutrition Office. Joining the activity that also promoted the ‘Iwas Paputok’ campaign of the Department of Health were Punong Barangay Mark Anthony S. Gutierrez, Kgwd. Clay Mark Simeon, Kgwd. Julie Cornel, Kgwd. YOUNG LEARNERS RECEIVE BACKPACKS WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND HYGIENE ESSENTIALS, NUTRITIOUS FOOD FROM MBTF
MAYOR Belen Fernandez has led the distribution of some 2,000 schoolbags with supplies and hygiene essentials for Grade 1 students in public elementary schools in Dagupan as part of the local government’s “AmBAG sa Dagupan” campaign to support the educational journey of young learners. Aside from that, fresh apples and nutritious meals like arrozcaldo were prepared for the children as part of the mayor’s ‘You’re the Apple of My Eyes’ and the feeding activity dubbed as #GoodbyeGutom in response to the Zero Hunger food sustainability program of the United Nations.
Each schoolbag which consists of notebooks, pencil, pad paper, crayons, hand soap and toothpaste were given out on December 11 at Bolosan Elementary School, Mamalingling Elementary School, Tambac Elementary School, Pogo-Lasip Elementary School, West Central Elementary School II, Bonuan Gueset Elementary School, Sabangan Elementary School and Gregorio del Pilar Elementary School with other schools to follow in the coming days. ALAGANG HEALTHY DAGUPEÑO
THE Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation Philippines Inc. treated some 53 elderly Dagupeños fo their post-op follow-up check-up after the ‘Libreng Cataract Operation’ organized by Mayor Belen Fernandez, Tzu Chi Eye Center Medical Outreach Group and the CSI Group of Companies on December 10. According to Dr. Bernardita Navarro, Ophthalmologist from the University of Santo Tomas, the follow-up consultation was necessary to ensure the proper healing of the those who undergone surgery. This phase is part of the ‘Alagang Healthy Dagupeño’ program of Mayor Belen in collaboration with the City Health Office headed by Dr. Ophelia Rivera, the Barangay Health Workers and volunteers.
