PANPACIFIC University Urdaneta  (PUU) won the school-based division title when the National Basketball Training Center ‘s Development Basketball Program championship reeled off in Eastern Pangasinan last December 11.

The Panpacific University trounced the Rosales National High School, 90-80; and the Villasis PMW Ball Club outclassed Bayambang in a 99-77 dominating finish.

In the same tournament, Villasis PMW Ball Club bagged the hoops club division crown at the Danny Ildefonso Court, Urdaneta City to advance to the regional  finals.

Both Panpacific and Villasis PMW qualified after registering unblemished league records heading to the regional tussles.

The tourney was joined by 10 Eastern Pangasinan schools and seven basketball clubs.

Eastern Pangasinan DBL Commissioner Danny Ildefonso, a former Philippine Basketball Association player, affirmed the support for the young grassroots ballers in pushing for their basketball careers to greater height in the regional scene and taking the next step to the national tourney.

The regional finals will be held in Laoag City on January 2024 while the NBTC Nationals is slated on March 2024. (Kim Gealogo)
