CONFISCATED SUB-STANDARD PRODUCTS DESTROYED

MAYOR Belen Fernandez and the officials of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial and Regional Office led the Ceremonial Destruction of Confiscated Substandard Products being sold in Pangasinan last October 25, 2023 at the Dagupan City Plaza.

The event was part of the campaign against selling and marketing of uncertified and substandard products that clearly do not pass quality control.

The mayor said the public destruction of the seized products valued at P135,000.00 that included Christmas lights, portable electric fan, lighter and chairs should serve as a reminder to the public to be more discerning when buying products.

Para sa kaligtasan ng lahat, TIYAKING KWALIPIKADO NG DTI ANG MGA KAGAMITANG BINIBILI, ” she said.

The month of October was ‘Consumer Welfare Month’  that highlighted the need to protect consumers from being cheated with poorly manufactured and no certification for their quality.

The ceremony was attended by DTI R-1 Consumer Protection Division Chief Zaldy Zafra, Provincial Director Natalia Dalaten, and Consumer Protection Division OIC Guillermo Avelino Jr. of  DTI Pangasinan to underscore the importance of the need to protect consumers in Dagupan being the center of commerce and economy in Northern Luzon.  (Dagupan CIO News)
