PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWDs) ARE PRIORITY

IN observing the 45th year of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week this month, Mayor Belen Fernandez reiterated her focus on her advocacy promoting the welfare of persons with disabilities under her ‘Unliserbisyo’ program.  She said PWDs in the city are entitled to free health services at the Diagnostic Center , i.e. X-Ray, ultrasound, CT-scan, ECG, at laboratory test, dental and medical check-up, use of wheelchairs, canes and other assistive devices. Their children will also have priority in the city’s scholarship program while P3 million (1st year), P4 million (2nd year) and P5 million (3rd year) will be allotted for PWD livelihood programs. In addition she will propose a P3,000 honorarium/allowance for PWD Federation Officers a and to allot 1% of government workforce to PWDs. (Dagupan CIO News)

‘ALAGANG HEALTHY DAGUPEÑO FOR NATIONAL HEALTH MONTH

MAYOR Belen Fernandez’s #AlagangHealthyDagupeño  program was launched with the City Nutrition and City Health Office, providing medical & dental check-up, consultation, free medicines and multivitamins and a feeding program at the city plaza. The city government also distributed milk and nutri-food packs, eggs, banana, orange, RIMO rice+monggo cereal for 200 children, while a seminar on nutrition education was held for the children’s parents. The program was launched in observance of the National Nutrition Month.  The mayor urged families to plant vegetables who in turn can be assisted by Barangay Nutrition Scholars.  (Dagupan CIO News)
