759 CITY SCHOLARS GET FUNDS FOR 2ND SEM

THE Dagupan City government released the funds for the second semester scholarship of 759 eligible current scholars at the city plaza after fully complying with the scholarship requirements. Meanwhile, Mayor Belen Fernandez laments the situation of the new 2,500  scholars who have been deprived of the scholarship because the 7 majority blocked the funds intended for them. The Fernandez administration allocated ₱200,000,000 budget for the scholarship of 5,000 indigent Dagupeño students but the majority councilors blocked it.

CITY RECEIVES MORE SUPPORT FROM THE MARCOS JR. ADMINISTRATION

SECRETARY Ana Carmela V. Remigio of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon visited the city on May 23 to look into the city government’s major concerns particularly, infrastructure to mitigate flooding, construction of school buildings and expansion of health services to implement universal health care. Mayor Belen Fernandez also cited the need for additional funding for Region 1 Medical Center for major medical services, including surgery, for indigent patients; the need to redevelop the One Bonuan Tondaligan Ferdinand to promote the city’s tourism promotion program; continued support for the Dagupan Bangus industry. Meanwhile, she acknowledged the support from the Department of Agriculture with the delivery of farm machinery and palay seeds for the city’s farmers and the success of the ‘Kadiwa ng Pangulo’ that sold products produced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
