DAGUPAN PREPARES FOR EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI

“WE have to be prepared. Let us do the best we can.”
This was the marching order of Mayor Belen Fernandez to officials and personnel of the city government as she underscored the urgency of preparing for the worst scenario similar to what happened to Turkey and Syria . “We cannot predict future. We can only prepare,” she added. She ordered the reactivation of the Privately Hosted Evacuation Center (PHEC) in Dagupan, the strategy for evacuation. With five (5) Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) installed in strategic areas and an Intensity Meter that measures earthquake’s magnitude, she expressed optimism that damages to lives and property can be minimized. PESO’S JOB FAIR PROVIDES JOBS FOR 522 APPLICANTS
PESO Manager Joy Siapno said 522 jobseekers were served during a jobs fair conducted by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Dagupan last February 18, 2023 at the CSI Atrium. Mayor Belen Fernandez expressed gratitude to the various local and overseas companies who came over to provide employment opportunities to applicants from Dagupan and other municipalities. OLYMPIAN Coach Luka Gabrilo, a top Swiss swimming coach arrived in Dagupan for training sessions with coaches of the Dagupan Swimming Team. He was joined by Kayla Sanchez, two-time Olympic medalist Kayla Sanchez, a Filipina-Canadian swimmer who demonstrated her personal swim workouts and routines to members of the swimming team.
