BEING TRANSPARENT WITH SCHOLARS ON SCHOLARSHIP FUND MESS

MAYOR Belen Fernandez meets with qualified old and new scholars to discuss and explain the dilemma of the city government over their plight – not being able to receive their grants under the scholarship program. She assured the students that education remains a top priority of her administration as she had demonstrated in the past but the irregularities committed in the selection of scholars by the Lim administration, i.e., ghost, dummy and fake scholars, etc. violating all rules, she said, could not allow her to simply continue the anomalies. She said the grants will be paid out as soon as the validation of qualifications of scholars is completed and the supplemental budget is approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Together with Atty. Aurora Valle, city legal officer, the mayor met with scholars Phoebe Ferrer, Anjanette Cayabyab, John Patrick De Vera, Lesther Bautista and Alliyah Sophia Cerro. (Dagupan CIO News)
