SALUDO ako kay Cong. Toff. His love for arts, especially creative and performing arts, ay hindi matatawaran. I support his advocacy, including his desire na gawing center ng creative arts ang Dagupan, hindi lamang ng buong Pangasinan, kundi ng buong Northern Luzon.

Sinamahan ko siya nung nag-turnover ng fund sa West Central Elementary School para sa maintenance ng MacArthur House, isa sa mga important heritage sites dito sa lungsod. Kasi doon pansamantalang tumuloy si General Douglas MacArthur nung nag landing ang Allied Liberation Forces sa Bonuan upang pasimulan ang liberation of Luzon.

Ang pondo ay nanggaling sa proceeds ng mga art works sa First Anakbanwa Arts Exhibit na ginanap sa MacArthur House last year. The second Anakbanwa Arts Exhibit ay ginaganap muli doon nuong October 12 and will be open till November 6.

Ang mga sumaksi sa turnover ay sina City Schools Division Superintendent Aguedo Fernandez, Councilor Jigs Seen at mga miyembro ng Jayceeken na siyang nagsusulong ng preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Dagupan mula pa noong unang panahon.

Ang MacArthur House ay bahagi ng ating history as a city and nation that must be preserved throughout all generations. Note that two years after the landing of the liberation forces, the city of Dagupan was born on June 20, 1947 pamamagitan ng batas in Congress  authored by then Speaker Eugenio Perez.

Continuing the legacy of Speaker Perez  and of his own father Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr, Cong Toff ay nagpasa ng maraming batas, kasama na ang batas – “ An Act establishing The Edades and Bernal Museum in Dagupan City, Province of Pangasinan and providing Funds thereof”.

Nangako ang National Historical Commission na sa lalong medaling panahon, this museum in memory of our two national artists from Dagupan ay itatayo right in their native city.

Dumalo tayo sa inauguration and blessing ng bagong two-storey multi-purpose barangay hall ng Bonuan Gueset. Ito ay isa na namang proyekto ng masipag na si Cong Toff de Venecia. Ang okasyon ay isa lamang sa maraming activities na naka line-up sa Fourth District bago niya ipagdiwang ang kanyang birthday. 

Kaya, binabati ko si Kapitan Noel Bumanglag at ang kanyang mga kagawad sa pagkakaroon ng bagong barangay hall, ito na ang piñaka-moderno sa buong Dagupan. 

Nandoon din sina Kap Joseph Maramba ng Bonuan Boquig at Kap Joshua Gonzales ng Bonuan Binloc. Yong Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Boquig at Bonuan Binloc form parts of the One Bonuan, whose areas and population combined ay considered siyang pinakamalaki sa buong Dagupan. 

More than that, malaki ang potential ng One Bonuan sa aspect ng tourism, kasi nandyan ang Tondaligan Park at ang malawak na Lingayen Gulf. Nandyan din ang tasty Bonuan bangus na galing sa mga palaisdaan ng tatlong Bonuan barangay. 

Nililibot ni Cong Toff ang kanyang distrito to give back to the communities meaningful projects to the people. Pambihira ang mga congresssmen na ganyan even if Toff is already on his third and final term in office.

Kaya, I am not at all surprised why mahal sya ng constituents niya. Whenever he takes time out from his busy work, he is here and there visiting communities sa Dagupan, Mangaldan, San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag. Toff is visible sa lahat ng dako sa Fourth District. 

Instead of going on a vacation abroad katulad ng iba pang congressmen, Cong Toff opted to be with his people and live with them. 

Sa inauguration ng bagong barangay Hall ng Bonuan Gueset, ipinagako niya ang kanyang patuloy na pagtulong sa One Bonuan. He loves One Bonuan. He and his parents live in Bonuan Binloc.

Kasama ko sa naturang okasyon sina Vice Mayor Bryan Kua, Councilors Mike Fernandez, Jigs Seen, Dennis Canto, Lino Fernandez at Bonbon Bugayong at iba pa.

Napirmahan na ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang RepublicAct No. 11935, postponing the  Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections na sana gaganapin sa December this year. At ayon sa RA 11935, the synchronized Barangay at SK elections ay itutuloy sa last Monday of October 2023 and every three years thereafter.

So, under the new law, ang term of office ng incumbent barangay officials at SK officials ay extended hanggang sa tanghali ng November 30, 2023 o hanggang ang kanilang successors shall have qualified. Maliwanag po.

Kaya, for the incumbent Barangay and SK officials dito sa Dagupan, ipagpatuloy lang po ninyo ang inyong magandang serbisyo para sa inyong mga constituents and for our beloved city. Tulong-tulong po tayo na iyalagey ang ating syudad.
