Ramoso’s docu film wins another award overseas

A documentary film by Pangasinan artists tiled “Ilalon Ag Nibalikas” (Unspoken Hope) about a Special Education Teacher’s (SPED) dedication to her calling won the Best Documentary Short Award at the 10th Emirates Film Festival (EFF) in Dubai last March 3.

Christian Ramoso, director and head of production of Youthcaster Productions, said the documentary film that won in the EFF,  featured Dr. Leah Surot, a SPED teacher, at the West Central Elementary School in Dagupan City, who as dedicated almost three decades of her life in teaching SPED students.

Surot, a computer degree holder who didn’t have prior teaching experience, found herself providing  special children with knowledge and learning tools.

The film, produced in 2022, featured her struggles and achievements in her life that revolved around teaching SPED who was seen as the personification of individuals determined to help individuals with special needs and persons with disabilities.

Ilalon Ag Nibalikas was not Ramoso’s first documentary film that won an award overseas. His other documentary film projects won acclaim at the Knowmad Short Film Festival in Germany, USA’ Student World Impact Film Festival. (Ahikam Pasion)
