THE Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) has a new regional director.

P/BGen Lou Evangelista succeeded P/BGen John Chua in a turnover ceremony Wednesday, November 22.

Evangelista, prior to becoming regional director, served as the Director of the PNP Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG).

Born on May 28, 1958, Evangelista belongs to the PNPA Class of 1994 with a degree on Public Safety.

He was also the former chief of staff of the PNP Logistics Support Group, former deputy director for operations of the Zamboanga PRO9, and the former commander of the Rizal Provincial Police Office.

Chua, on the other hand, is the new chief of the Visayas Area Police Command (APC).

Evangelista and Chua were part of the small reorganization implemented by PNP Chief General Benjamin Acorda.

Acorda said that he does not wish to implement a large-scale rigodon among members of the PNP, as the minor reorganization only happened as some police officials have retired.

Acorda himself is set to retire on December 3, 2023 once he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 56. (Ahikam Pasion)
