THE Sangguniang Panlungsod, on motion of all members of the majority, passed a resolution congratulating lawyer Teofilo Guadiz III on his recent appointment by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Members of the minority of the SP joined the majority in passing the resolution.

Guadiz, a native of Dagupan where he served for one term as a city councilor, was former chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), assistant Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), He was regional director of the LTO in Region 1 and LTO Regional Director for the National Capital Region (NCR) before his new appointment.

His late farther, Teofilo Guadiz Jr., was a retired Regional Trial Court judge in Manila and also former councilor of Dagupan City. Guadiz III is a grandson and namesake of former Dagupan Mayor Teofilo Guadiz.

The resolution acknowledged Guadiz’s qualifications as “hardworking, a man of integrity, brilliant, humble and dedicated public servant as well as for his unsullied traits that continue to earn appreciation from the public.”  (Leonardo Micua)
