THIRD District Rep.-elect Rachel Arenas logged the highest percentage votes garnered in the recently-concluded elections in Pangasinan – 91% of votes cast.
The daughter of Deputy Speaker Rose Marie Arenas garnered 311, 862 votes based on Commission on Elections’ final official count, and easily won over two opponents in the congressional derby.
Arenas already served two terms as representative of the Third District, the top vote-rich district in Pangasinan, and was succeeded by her mom who was ending her third term this year.
“I am overwhelmed. Not just landslide (victory) but a tsunami,” she said on her Facebook post thanking her district mates for the avalanche of votes she got.
“Our love for you will be the light in our darkest hours. It will be the rock upon which we promise our devotion and upon which we offer our commitment to serve. We Love You. We Love You Always and Forever,” she said.
Meanwhile, Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia was re-elected with 213, 020 votes earned, or 159,858 difference from his lone rival. De Venecia won his third term.
In a Facebook post, De Venecia, son of former five-time Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr and former congresswoman Gina de Venecia, said in Filipino that, “ The 80 percent of total votes cast I garnered is heartwarming.”
Comebacking Sixth District Representative-elect Marlyn Primicias-Agabas pulled in 231, 864 votes in her favor, or a margin of 213, 578 over her lone rival.
Former First District Rep. Arthur Celeste got 155,372 votes or 72,389 margin over his lone opponent.
Neophyte congressman-elect Ramon Guico Jr. of the Fifth District posted 166,921 votes or 52,842 margin over his lone challenger Clemente Arboleda Jr.
Former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco was successful in his transfer to the Second District and hauled 150,472 votes or 14, 584 difference over incumbent Congressman Jumel Espino.
