FUND RAISING FOR ODETTE VICTIMS

A GROUP of female artists in Pangasinan started a fundraising drive for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Odette in Visayas and Mindanao.

The 36-female members of the group’s SARAG MI (Pangasinan for ‘We Can’) launched their ‘Art for a Cause’ campaign by offering to sell their artwork and proceeds of which will be sent to Typhoon Odette victims.

SARAG MI organizer Aileen dela Cruz partnered with Earth Shaker and Pangasinan Youth for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PYDRRM) to raise funds for charity.

Cruz said the group hopes to raise P 47,960, their estimated total value of all the paintings  listed in their fundraiser.

As of this writing, SARAG MI already raised P11,000 in monetary donation.

Individuals interested to help in the effort, they can buy SARAG MI’s featured artwork by visiting  their Facebook page, ‘SARAG MI,’ while the Earth Shaker Facebook page provides  a report on the activity. (Ahikam Pasion)
