A TRICYCLE driver died, while another was in critical condition after the tricycle was rammed by an SUV in Barangay Bued, Calasiao, on Wednesday afternoon, April 10.

P/Lt Col. Ferdinand Lopez, officer-in-charge at the Calasiao Police Station, identified the victim as Adrian Landingin, a resident of Sitio Sabangan in Barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City, who was driving the tricycle rammed by the SUV.

CCTV from Barangay Bued showed the Black Fortuner bearing plate number ABD 1817, overtook from the shoulder lane towards Urdaneta City where Landingin’s tricycle was moving while a truck was parked.

The SUV drove past through the tricycle, that caused the latter to be pushed to the opposite lane, hitting a motorcycle rider.

Landingin died on the spot, while the reckless Fortuner driver sped away. Lopez immediately ordered a pursuit operation on the Fortuner.

It was found out in an interview over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan, that the Fortuner was initially bought from a used car shop in Urdaneta City.

Police called the second owner of said SUV, but immediately dropped the call once notified that it was involved in a hit-and-run.
