LOCAL police belied another reported kidnapping incident in Barangay Magtaking, Bugallon, declaring it as a ‘false alarm’.

P/ Major Ramsey Ganaban, Bugallon police chief, said a blotter report in the barangay was not a kidnapping case citing the CCTV footage recovered from the alleged scene of the crime that showed only a van that stopped because something blocking its way.

The blotter reported: “While purchasing ice at the store, a white van suddenly stopped, and its occupants, wearing masks, attempted to abduct a child. Fortunately, an unidentified individual arrived timely, preventing the abduction.”

Further police investigation reshowed witnesses who saw the alleged incident said they did not notice anything unusual;  even the child in question, a nine-year-old girl, denied she was taken.

There were no men in mask who came out of the van.

The barangay blotter, dated March 8, supposedly indicated that the alleged attempted kidnapping occurred at 5:30 PM. (Ahikam Pasion)
