Husband-wife drug peddlers nabbed in drug ops
A couple working as street vendors were arrested in Barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan
City following a drug-bust operation by police anti-drug operatives in Dagupan City.
Arrested were couple Noraima Saranga, 24, and husband Nabil Saranga, 24, both residents in the barangay after they sold three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 11 grams with P70,800. street value. The couple are charged with violating Republic Act 9165.
Gun-peddling tricycle driver nabbed
POLICE arrested Samuel Gacias aka ‘Sammy’, 50, resident of Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City, for peddling firearms in Barangay Mancup, Calasiao.
Gacias sold a caliber 38 revolver to an undercover, a policeman who posed as a buyer. He was promptly arrested after he received the payment and the gun was seized. In his possession was one sachet of suspected shabu. Gacias is still under investigation, being suspected of having links with a group involved in gun running in the province.
Drunkard burns own shanty
A 34-year-old drunkard was arrested after burning his own shanty in Anda town.
Arrested was Belvin Raquiño, a resident of Barangay Tondol, and police investigation showed he was already drunk, making a scene in the area before he was accosted initially by neighbors after he attempted to raze his neighbor’s house, after burning his shanty. Neighbors then ganged up on him before he could get the neighbor’s house on fire.
After his arrest, police seized a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu found in his pocket Suspect is now detained in the town’s police station.
Grassfire almost razes houses in Dagupan City
A grassfire almost razed houses in, Dagupan City were it not for the prompt response of the Dagupan Fire Station .
Leona Elegores, a resident of Barangay Bolosan in Daguan City who posted the incident on Facebook said the grassfire started at around 8 a.m. Responding firemen said the grassland was dry and the fire spread quickly but they managed to stop the spread before it could reach nearby houses. They declared a fire out by 11:30 am.
It was the 5th grassfire recorded in the city since January 2024.
