All cops at PNP Region 1-HQ test negative in surprise drug tests

ALL 138 commissioned officers and seven non-commissioned officers assigned at the regional headquarters of Police Regional Office 1 tested negative in surprise drug testing conducted on April 12 by the Regional Forensic Unit 1.

P/Brigadier General John Chua, police regional director, led the commissioned officers who took the surprise drug testing held at the command conference hall, following a command conference.

At that instance, all attendees of the conference were prevented from leaving the conference hall until the drug test was administered.

Earlier, 29 operatives from the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit were also subjected to a surprise drug testing  all tested negative for use of illegal drugs.

Chua said the drug testing is part of “our regular and continuous efforts in sustaining the gains of the PNP’s Internal Cleansing Program”.

“The implementation of our intensified campaign against illegal drugs must start within our organization,” Chua who expressed support for surprise drug testing on all personnel of the PNP regional headquarters.

“I am happy to note that Regional Police Office 1 remains to be a drug-free organization,” the regional director said. (Leonardo Micua)
