7,699 cops, force multipliers deployed in Region 1
LIGTAS SUMVAC
PNP Region 1 deployed 7,699 PNP personnel and their force multipliers in places of convergence, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and road construction areas in the implementation of its security plan “Ligtas SumVac” before, during and after the Lenten Season.
P/Brig. Gen John Chua, regional director, said “Ligtas SUMVAC” was a comprehensive security plan on traffic management to ensure public safety services to the community that required deployment for intelligence monitoring, to implement road safety measures and traffic management, to man police assistance desks and to secure major public transport terminals, airports, churches, shopping malls and other places of convergence.
He said maximum police visibility and strengthened beat patrols in order to deter crimes and make police assistance accessible to the public while Tourist Police Units were deployed in tourist destinations region-wide.
Chua appealed to the public to support the police by following the rules and regulations. (Leonardo Micua)
