Two persons posing as policemen nabbed for extortion
TWO persons are facing strings of criminal cases after extorting money from a furniture shop by posing as policemen in Natividad town.
The investigation showed the suspects, Erwin Buenabente and Ramil Domingo, entered the furniture shop owned Emy Norberte, a resident of Natividad and one introduced himself as “Police Lieutenant Domingo” assigned in Baguio City.
There, they asked the shop owner to give them P3,000 protection money weekly.
Shocked by the incident, a staff of the shop immediately called the Natividad Police who quickly responded and arrested the suspects while they were yet inside the furniture shop.
In a verification conducted by lawmen, they found out that Domingo is not a policeman.
Cases against him and Buenabente for robbery extortion and for posing as police officers are now being prepared against the suspects. (Badz Agtalao/IFM Dagupan)
